Nov. 19th, 2021 09:32 amThis week kicked my butt, which is unsurprising when you figure I was traveling and effectively out of commission for 3 days at the end of the week last week. I had multiple evening meetings that required sprinting home from work, plus a substantial grading task (Results sections for student papers), plus a guest lecture for a class at another nearby liberal arts college, plus Emma.
At the start of the week, I finally noticed that the Arcosanti bell wasn't making any noise. I guess when there are a bajillion of them hanging in the showroom, it's a bit much to have them all ringing, so the inside was lined with tape to silence it.
It is a very silly bell, but I'm enjoying hearing it now on windy days. It transports me back to that one magical afternoon/evening, so badly needed, and reminds me to ask myself questions about how I want to spend my life.

Weekend agenda:
-Buy a hair dryer
-Attempt to get more mineral oil off of Emma (did you know there's a whole WikiHow page dedicated to getting oil off of your cat? I guess I'm not the only person to wonder). The hair dryer will be to make sure she's dry and never too cold. Time to Dremel her claws again, too.
-Clean/organize house
-Brace myself for the Grading Hell phase of the Scientific Writing course
-Try to make progress on at least one project that involves making something
And now, back to grading and answering emails. Whee.
