So, first a quick update on the cat injection process--of course, after the ease of the morning, the evening dosage was a bit more messy--I didn't quite clamp down hard enough on the cat, so I acquired a couple of scratches on my left leg. But the majority of the antibiotic still ended up in the cat. Still, I don't think Honeydew is going to like me/trust me for a long time when all is said and done. Poor kitty. Oh well. The other two cats are being super-needy since I'm the only one around so I think I'll be okay with one cat hating my guts.

Anyhow, while T is in Costa Rica, he asked me to drive his car around on occasion. No problem, right? Right. Well, it's a manual transmission, and some of you out there know that I've had some extremely humiliating stick shift driving experiences. It's something I haven't quite mastered yet, and I'm waaay out of practice. So I drove T's car to crew practice, because there aren't that many people out at 4 in the morning for me to hit. Thankfully. The only problem is, there's a point in that drive where one must make a U-turn, and I missed that point and ended up pulling some wacked maneuvers in a crazy place. Nobody got hurt, though (aside from my own mental anguish), and I only stalled out once. This whole process is quite interesting--driving stick is a much more fluid experience, and is forcing me to think on my feet, something I'm not very good at. I know I'll get better at it eventually, but it's going to take some time to acquire the motor skills and be able to drive without that little voice in my head going, "Okay, clutch. Okay, brake. Okay, gas. Okay, shift into third now. Okay, maybe that was a bit too soon. Note to self, next time, ease up on gas when shifting gears. Okay, CRAP, red light, clutch and brake. Okay, no pedestrians in sight, okay, turn signal's where it always is, okay, car behind me must think I'm drunk/high. Hey, this is sort of like shifting gears on a bike."

Well. That was enough of an adventure for the morning, so now I think I'll do the usual morning song-and-dance and then take a little nap. Or maybe I'll mow the lawn instead.

Tomorrow morning, I'm biking to practice.
