I can't remember how recently I've written on the subject of my book club dreamchild, the Snotty Literati. The original musings (and beginnings of book lists) are posted here, but a conversation with K has gotten me inspired all over again. Ironically, I'm in the middle of reading a New York Times Bestseller, and am actually enjoying it for a change (see the original musings to understand the irony). In any case, here's my question, for those lj-ers who are more solidly grounded in lj community-hood: should I start a[nother] book club community for the sake of the name? How should I structure it to make it useful and fun? Will I quickly overwhelm myself because of the sheer number of books I haven't read, but should? What kind of criteria should a book meet to be deemed of literary merit?
