I'm addicted to The Decemberists' latest album, Picaresque. Some of the songs are quite poignant, while others are quite bouncy and fun. They appeared on NPR recently (but KEXP got them first!).

In any case. I think I'm going to be at work until very, very late. I have a lot of paper-writing to get done before 9 am tomorrow. I think I can do it, but I'm not sure.

i played the cd in a car full of haters on the way to montana, and they dubbed it "alternassaince." which is perhaps unfair, but i can't get it out of my head. i really like "engine driver."

As usual, you have unfailingly good taste. That's the same song I really like. I hope the trip was fun! Maybe I'll call you this week, after I get one of the papers of doom turned in.
