No tree, but when I was younger, our aerial* blew off its tower and punctured through the roof. It stayed up in the attic area, it didn't threaten anyone, but it did necessitate some costly repairs.
I hope whoever suffered to spark your curiosity didn't suffer greatly!
*Aerials are ancient metal contraptions, comprised mainly of sharp, narrow poles, that were used to get television signals by capturing airwaves. Sort of like satellite, only the signals never left the Earth's atmosphere.
When the tree fell on our house, I was mostly pissed off about the fact that parents wouldn't let me play in it while it was filling our back yard. "Too dangerous," it was said. But dammit, there was exploring to be done!
As sytharin noted, we had a tree fall on our house once. But I was reading through my journal the other day (paper journal, not blog) and came across an entry where I mentioned a conversation I'd had with some people about trees falling on houses. Some of the people had really interesting stories about it. So I was sort of wondering if that was a fluke occurrence or if a number of people had tree-falling stories to tell.
