Roger2 is Dead!

By dead I mean: 'E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-COMPUTER!! (borrowed from the Monty Python Dead Parrot Sketch)
The good news is that we got everything off the hard drive. By "we," I mean, the extremely nice and incredibly helpful IT guys in the School of Life Sciences. So, thankfully, THAT didn't cost me a penny. My new computer ambitions are going to, though. Eep. I'm hesitant to buy a new laptop on borrowed money, but the circumstances are pretty dire.
Well. It has been an eventful day already.
P.S.--do you know anybody that would be interested in:
-A Dell CD burner
-A Dell battery
-A Dell adapter?
I don't think I'll be using them again anytime soon...

Because chances are good you can get a decent deal on a used PII or something, depending on what you want to run on it. It won't be good for realtime geopositional modelling or anything fun like that, but maybe some not-too-complex graphing could be done...
