This morning I took some pictures of the paintings I've painted. But ASU's server won't cooperate at the moment, so I haven't posted the pictures quite yet. On the other hand, I *have* gained an appreciation for people who photograph paintings. It's tricky, to say the least.

I bought the new Decemberists album today (Picaresque). It's sweet. It makes me think that it would be fun to be a rock star and make an album entitled, "Pulchritude." If you know anything of the pulchritudinous sort, you are amused.

I did a bit of work, but not a whole lot. It's hard to stave off sleep whilst reading in a hammock. The weather has been nice, to say the least. It has been even nicer to be able to enjoy it. I have a brief respite this weekend before I plunge back into the end-of-the-semester madness.

So I shall use my remaining time to drink a glass of wine and read a trashy novel. Hooray!

It sounds like your life has been very, very hairy lately, so I'm glad you took some "me time" and rested. Hopefully you're rejuvenated enough to face the horrors -- by which I mean challenges -- of the coming week!

Paintings are a funny thing to photograph. It takes two lights, a tripod, a triangle of tape on the floor, a measuring tape, and an easel, if you are going to get serious about really making your painting look good in a photo (right color tone, depth of field, lighting, framing in shot).
