Say Cheese [status]

Based on the existence of the Tillamook store inside the Portland airport, I must not be the only person with a tendency to smuggle a loaf of cheese home with me at the end of travels to the West Coast.



The cats were very happy to see me, unsurprisingly.



I was up before 3 PST to catch the train to the PDX airport; hopefully that helps with jet lag.

Haha, he was so happy I was back that he spent most of the night meowing and tearing around the house! Still a goofball!

It does annoy me when things which ain't get called cheddar.

Cheddar comes from the Cheddar Gorge and from nowhere else!

What should the other cheese get called instead? I believe the Aussies respect this sentiment but they call their similar substance "white cheese," which is not particularly descriptive for the outsider!

Also cheddar is never white but a golden yellow.

I think George and Martha were mostly just grateful to see me, and maybe while I was gone they just employed their personal coping mechanisms as best they could.

Tillamook cheese is the BEST. Have you had their ice cream? It's incredible too.

I LOVE their ice cream. Thankfully we can get it all the way out here in New York these days! The cheese loaves don't make it out here, though...just smaller quantities, and at that point I just sigh resignedly and switch over to more local cheese.
