Back in the GPMSA
Jan. 6th, 2005 10:48 pmWell, I'm back in the Greater Phoenix MetroSuburban Area. Yay! My kitten is happy as the queen of the palace until the other two kitties return, I had a lovely dinner with T and two of his friends who are visiting from out of state, and...all would be lovely except that for some reason or another I can't get the wireless internet to work properly. Fortunately, I don't really HAVE to get it to work properly until E returns, because T's computer has croaked. But in any case. Emma wasn't as tranquil on the return flight as she was on the way over, but there were some crying children on our flight, so nobody really noticed the quiet kitten whines in the background.
Well, I think I'm off to bed. Tomorrow's another big day!
Oh yeah--I have to say--I got to see the Salt River from the plane window as we came in for a landing. It was pretty incredible. All of the recent rains in Arizona forced Tempe to deflate the inflatable rubber dams to let the water run through. It might be the end of the month before we have a lake again. It's the first test of the dams, which is exciting and nerve-wracking. I think I'm going to go take pictures of it tomorrow. Maybe I'll even get around to posting them somehow.
Okay, now I'm really off to bed. I can't wait to crawl into my very comfy bed, under my very comfy comforter. I'm not going to miss that lumpy futon one bit. Good night!
