When my grandmother died, I inherited a box of crochet thread. Nobody else in the family does thread crochet anymore, to the best of my knowledge. I also inherited all of her crochet hooks. It's too warm to knit in AZ--there's no point. But it's never too warm to do thread crochet, and there's hope that the kittens will show slightly less interest in it, compared to their interest in knitting (Emma is quite fond of the ends of bamboo knitting needles)...So I've been perusing patterns on the web. Quite fun! Crochet is much better for lacy-type designs that can be worn in any weather, though it's generally less elastic than knitting...
