Y Hallo Thar, Blag-o-Blag
Oct. 28th, 2007 01:40 pmThings have been busy. I spent a good part of yesterday wedged in the back of
crume's car, driving to Tucson and then to Willcox to partake in fall harvesting activities. I came home with 9 pounds of apples, 3 jars of strawberry preserves, a squash, and a bag of almonds. (I love lists, don't you?) Seeing where food grows in Willcox was nice, and it was also nice to see other parts of the state for a while.
We got home late, so I pretty much went straight to bed. I got up at 5:40 this morning, bathed and made coffee (vital parts of any day), and then headed over to festivities for the Tour de Tempe, an annual bike parade through Tempe. TBAG had volunteered to send volunteers along the ride to monitor the typical mishaps that happen with large group rides, so K and I rode towards the back along with my friend B. It was a pleasant day for a ride, and I also got some useful information on where to get information about bike safety from another group at the event. There were lots of sweet bikes on the Tour, including a family of recumbent riders--Dad and Mom had recumbent trikes, and their daughter had a two-wheeler, all festooned with colorful flags.
This afternoon, I'm peeling, coring, and slicing apples, and am hopefully catching up with some schoolwork. It's lab report grading time, which means time to do everything except grade lab reports. Always fun.
Next weekend, my mom is coming into town. I have a feeling I won't see the light of day for a few weeks with everything that's going on.
