Crafternoon.

If any of you are interested, I'm going to have a Crafternoon at my house next Sunday, Oct. 21. Since the afternoon begins at 12 pm, that is when the Crafternoon will begin as well. My grand plan is to have the crafty stuff that I've got sitting around my house available for use, and to work on a couple of the craft projects that have been gathering dust and making me feel guilty every time I notice them. My other grand plan is to construct a temporary, large Craft Table that will be a good spot to do all those messy, crafty things that you don't dare do on your fine furniture. We'll hang out on the back patio so we can enjoy the sunshine, too.

As for you, you are welcome to come and just hang out, to bring your own project, or to bring craft supplies or ideas to share with others. Let me know (via my username at hotmail or in Comments) if you need directions to my house.

That sounds so awesome. It reminded me of my "Black Friday Arts Group" that I helped put together last year. I need to do that again this year. Basically we just got together and people brought their projects and we hung out and did "art" all day. It was a happy memory!

I hope it's that much fun--we shall see how it works out...My undergrad university (Tufts) had a Crafts Center that was open to students and neighbors, and on Saturdays they would have workshops to teach people how to make different kinds of things. It was an awesome resource--you couldn't take supplies out of the Center, but you could use stuff there and keep whatever you made. They had a wood shop, a ceramics studio, stuff for making stained glass, paint, fabric, yarn...I had a lot of fun there. Mostly I was just thinking that I never make the time to finish up projects, so this would be a great excuse to do so.
