Give us this week our weekly vegetables...
Oct. 5th, 2007 07:30 amSo this week in our CSA assortment, we received:
-mustard greens
-chilis
-baby bok choi
-tat soi
-butternut squash
-sweet potatoes
Not to mention the fact that I bought a huge bunch of red chard last week.
Can you say LEAFY GREENS? I bet my mom is real proud of how many greens I eat now.
That said, mustard greens. Any ideas? All I know is that they're spicy. Bonus points if you can think of ways to use more than one veggie at once.
Also: I think I'm going to use the chilis to make chili relleno (literally, "stuffed chili"): stuff those puppies with cheese, batter, and fry. Yum!

Edited to add: I spelled "chile" wrong. Please go back through and substitute the word "chile" where I put "chili" as you read this.

I don't have much experience with such hearty greens (mom's from South Africa), but what I do have usually includes large amounts of bacon fat.
