Date: 2007-02-20 11:45 pm (UTC)I don't buy it--Madstone used to play decent films, but I think due to its more out-of-the-way location it couldn't attract the same audiences as Camelview. Perhaps both places needed to do a better job of educating the public to have more nuanced and varied tastes in film (the occasional "film fests" in the Phoenix area are incredibly disappointing). Overall, the state of film in AZ is another case of pasty, bland, white Americans failing to support interesting artistic endeavors.
