Austin, TX

Made it to the hotel by 8 pm. I have visited Austin numerous times but usually stay somewhere annoying. This year the room block rates at the conference hotel were reasonable enough! We are a 5 min walk away from the Austin Rowing Center.

After rowing I will go have coffee and breakfast tacos at The Hideout. Then, science.

No familiar faces at all at the welcome reception last night. Possibly a sign of getting old.

Conference is conferency! [work]

First off, I did manage to escape the Minneapolis vortex, and arrived in Austin a mere 7 hours later than originally scheduled. That's not too bad, considering that the airline I was originally scheduled to fly on apparently experienced further delays this morning. What a mess.

My attention span is kinda shot and I'm kinda twitchy. In a good way. Might be early next week before I manage to get myself straightened out and back into some kind of regular routine.
