Between this terrible teaching schedule and Too Many Meetings, it's Thursday and I'm exhausted again.

On the other claw, it is raining this morning and that instantly put me in a great mood on my commute to campus.

Not much that's interesting to report. One of the things I do really like about labs is that I have much more time to have casual conversations with students. Who knows what they think of my stories.

Aside from the bicycling class, one of the other courses being offered this spring is a knitting course. A bunch of my students are in that course, too. I need to bring in my current work-in-progress and go hang out with them at some point.

But I also need to reduce the size of this Giant Stack of Grading.

So, yeah.

I'm proud of Tuesday's Quaxing, wherein I transported Old Faithful to campus, by bicycle:

Quaxing for fun and profit

I didn't even have to do any disassembly at all. The trick was figuring out where to secure Old Faithful's rear wheel.

Quaxing for fun and profit

I'm still working on figuring out how to get bikes for my bicycling students. I think my next step is going to be putting together some orders for helmets, U-locks, and repair kits.

I think I have 6 potential loaner bikes lined up so far, out of 14 needed.
