Aside from that, I think that Valentine's Day is a great reason to make port shakes. I think I'm gonna play hookey from my painting class so I can have me a port shake. Also because I'm really tired, as indicated by the latte-spillage.

mmmmmm...port shakes...


In other news, we had a great row this morning. I got the most coaching that I've had the entire time I've lived in Tempe. It was pretty refreshing to have somebody in the coach's launch making sure I was rowing properly. Rowing is much more fun when it's done correctly. I was in an eight, training to go to San Diego for the Crew Classic in early April. Quite different from the single!

How does one make a port shake?

One takes (approximately):
1/4 C port wine
1/4 C Ephemere sauce (a chocolate sauce sold by Dilettante; any other fine chocolate sauce should be an acceptable substitute as long as it isn't too sweet)
4 scoops of ice cream

And puts them in a blender and frappes them (blends them on a milkshake setting). Yum!
