Last weekend, locally-grown cauliflower was on sale, so I bought two heads. I roasted them plus some potatoes on Saturday evening. Roasted cauliflower is so delicious that we then proceeded to eat maybe half of it just standing around and snacking on it.

Yesterday I turned what was left into some aloo gobi, and also made some chana dal curry using chickpeas instead of the chana dal. I still haven't found an Indian grocery out here yet.

Between that and some supplies from the Italian import grocery down the street, we have dinner for the week.

I'm going to be traveling Weds - Sat, so in lieu of pancakes or muffins I just made some scones and a batch of lemon curd.

In other words, we're eating well around here these days.

Amazingly, I also picked one last batch of raspberries on Saturday. I think that was the final raspberries, for real this time. Fresh raspberries in November. Thank you, raspberry bushes. You have been amazing.

I do love cauliflower.

Cauliflower cheese with chestnuts is a traditional dish of my grandmother's that I sometimes cook.

I was always a bit lukewarm on cauliflower by itself (versus incorporated into a dish like in aloo gobi) until I learned about roasting it.

Delicious!!

I usually toss it in oil, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika and then put grated parm on top when it comes out of the oven.
