Non-ideal voting
Nov. 3rd, 2021 09:56 amI managed to make it out to vote last night.
I didn't have time to look up and think about some of the statewide measures, so I left them blank.
But there are a ton of good reasons to turn in a ballot even so, not the least of which is making it clear that my elected officials need to treat me as an active voter because I AM paying attention to what they're doing (or not doing).
My polling place was busy, with something of a festive air. Crowds were at least better than last year, when nobody was vaccinated, we hadn't perfected our hygiene theater yet, and lines were quite long. I mean, I was absolutely wearing a mask, and many others were as well, but there were many bare-faced people and I have my doubts about the quality of the ventilation in the Ancient Order of the Hibernians hall.
I have way too much going on this week.

Date: 2021-11-03 02:51 pm (UTC)We were told we could not turn away any prospective voters who chose not to wear masks.
Regardless of party affiliation, most voters did choose to wear masks.
But there were a few who were very obnoxious about not wearing masks.
And they made me very nervous.
