Delta delta delta [Covid]
Aug. 10th, 2021 01:42 pmThis is about a week old, but still seems generally pertinent for thinking about what to do and how to behave these days:
Advice about how to behave, even for the vaccinated, in the context of the Delta variant: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/03/well/live/covid-delta-variant-vaccine-symptoms.html
Sometimes it seems to me that the NYT has been a little nonchalant about pandemic things. It's kind of hard to find an accurate gauge for addressing the "How concerned/worried should I be about this particular threat?" question. No matter what, we don't get a "get out of jail free" card when it comes to the question.

This is a round-up article; it references a Mayo Clinic study where they find that, in July/against Delta, Moderna is less effective (at 76%) and Pfizer is WAY less effective (at 42%).
"We're vaccinated, we're fine" is not looking like a robust result at this time.
