Indiana near Notre Dame

I80 outside of Chicago is the worst traffic encountered of the entire summer, California included.

Camped with Emma in Iowa last night. She dud well with it.

I do not care for what i have seen of Indiana to date, but I also recognize that it us unfair to judge a state by its interstates.

Driving kind of provides thinking time, but train travel thinking time is superior.

Oh, Chicago is horrible traffic-wise.

You're considerably north of there and unlikely to drive through it, but the only one of the midwestern states that came as a pleasant surprise to me was (ulp) Wisconsin.

Of course, when I was driving through those places, I was with a circus, so we'd use major thoroughfaires for long jumps amd then get on the smalller roads. The smaller roads were almost always pretty.
