Delights large and small
Oct. 16th, 2020 12:40 pmI was finally in the right place at the right time last night, riding my bike home so I could get home in time for a 7 pm faculty meeting (siiiiigh...).
Here's my favorite patch of trees on campus, looking all glorious with fall splendor and whatnot:

Two more photos, for good measure. Those trunks! Such lovely shapes!

Depth and range of colors!

This patch of trees assumes a different aesthetic during the winter, but it's equally pleasing thanks to the trunk and branch shapes.
And on the other end of the visible size scale, fresh raspberries picked from the garden this morning. They aren't as delicious as the raspberries off my parents' bushes, but they're still better than pretty much any raspberry you can buy in the store.

Plus, eating them in our oatmeal this morning brought back such happy memories of that short summer bike touring trip around the Olympic Peninsula, stopping at Loudwater Farms and being exhorted to pick as many raspberries as I could, because the ripe berries were falling off the canes. It's hard for folks running small-scale operations on the OP to find people to hire to pick berries.
