Glory Days

I'll write more about a few more adventures soon enough. At the moment, I want to make sure I remember one thing.
I had breakfast at Bakery Nouveau, on Capitol Hill, at
annikusrex's recommendation (delicious; recommendation seconded). After that, I wanted to pick up a couple of items at the University Bookstore, so I rode down 15th past Volunteer Park, towards 10th and the University Bridge. Right now, that section of 15th is a tree-lined tunnel of kaleidoscopic colors. I would have paused to photograph it, except like many of the city vistas, a photograph wouldn't do the experience justice.
It's pretty hard to be unhappy in weather like this.
I also feel like noting that the things that make Seattle a wonderful city are far from unique to Seattle. Minneapolis, Boston, Austin, and Portland all have wonderful walking spaces along rivers, and San Antonio appears to sorta have that going on as well. I see the same potential in Spokane and Vancouver, BC, although I haven't spent as much time in either place. Come to think of it, I'd put Melbourne and Sydney in the same category, and I bet there are many European cities that fit the mold as well. Phoenix might get there, as it continues to extensively revise its urban core. Small-town Texas, however...hard to say.
