Yesterday was expectedly rough. I volunteered to sub-cox in the morning, which meant getting up early and riding out to the lake. When I got there, the coach did the numbers and figured out there was one extra person. I was feeling sufficiently blah to volunteer to go home. When I walked across the field in the dark to hop back on the road, I walked through some clay-like mud, which coated my bike shoes and gummed up my fenders, so I had to spend an extra 20 minutes hosing things off before riding back, and again upon arriving home. Too many rednecks drive out to the lake and do donuts in their pickup trucks in the fields.
I had to lie down for a nap at work, and so I decided I should probably skip the Monday Night Social Ride, too. Instead, I picked up veggies from our new CSA, cooked dinner, and finished the oar painting.

Oil painting is a major project, on par with getting things set up to make ceramics, except one doesn't have to have a kiln or fire things. I didn't finish and clean up until around 11 pm, so I didn't get to bed until midnight, so I skipped the rowing team workout this morning, too.
Hopefully I'm sufficiently rested by now that I can make good headway on writing projects. Things are starting to backlog badly.
