On trips "home," do you ever start to feel nervous and tense, waiting to see what has gone wrong in your absence? I go through periods where I get that feeling when checking my e-mail after a break, and it sometimes crops up when returning from trips, too. Mostly when returning to Texas, due to the various elements of living here.
My poor roommates. The week I left, we had the water heater explosion. After I left, there was a large rainstorm of the sort that sweeps through once or twice a year, and it flooded the back patio and into the dining room. So, just when the rest of the carpeting had finally been put back, they had to move a whole bunch of stuff and prop up carpeting in another third of the house. And rain brings humidity, so the second section took much longer to dry.
On top of that, the cat interactions may be getting troublesome. The back patio smelled of cat pee when I arrived home. Hopefully it was just the towels that fell to the floor, which I threw in the washing machine this morning with a whole bunch of OxyClean. But then, my room also smells of cat pee. That's more problematic, as my room is carpeted. In case I needed any other projects to work on. And I don't yet know if this was a one-time stress thing on miss Emma's part, or if it's Schrodinger being a male cat.
Oh, and yeah, the lawn needs to be mowed ASAP.
I was hoping I'd be able to focus at work today, but not so much. I have a lot to do here, too, but it appears I've overshot it on the stress/productivity curve.
