This is my last ceramics session here in Arizona (well, there will be a few more weeks of classes, but that's it!). The fact hasn't completely sunk in yet, as it's hard to imagine things ending tidily. There are always unfinished projects that carry over from one session to the next, and I can't think of a single time when I've used up all of my clay by the end of the session. But here, now, this is it. And I don't know what I'll end up making, because ceramics has always been more of a process than a finished product for me. I've got a bag of porcelain clay, and some ideas about more insect-oriented art, but that's about it. I'm still working on gathering images for the art I want to work on.

Even if I continue with ceramics in College Station, it won't be the same. There will be different kilns, and different glazes to interact with. Not to mention different people as well. I'm not the *best* of friends with my fellow ceramicists, but we definitely feed off of each other's ideas and perspectives. I doubt I'll get as good a deal as we get here in Tempe, if I'm even lucky enough to arrange a situation to do more ceramics.

This has been a long chapter in my adult life - eight years of creative work across multiple fronts. All I know is that the urge to create persists, and will demand an outlet no matter where I live.
