If I had a camera... [bakery, gardenery]

...I would show you the angel food cupcakes I just baked. So light and fluffy-looking! They have to cool for a ridiculously long time, so I don't know yet if they taste as good as they look. I didn't have quite enough egg whites for the recipe I used, and forgot to reduce the amount of flour added. We shall see.
...I would also show you pictures of the pepper plants. They are looking pretty happy, despite the bermudagrass that keeps trying to re-invade (it's definitely going to make my list of Worst Plants Ever).
---
Today was the final day of observations for this pair of colonies, Ugli and Cherry (I named them after fruits and vegetables). Tomorrow, I will paint the next pair. I hope I have a pair of smaller colonies to work with. These two had about 900 ants apiece, which is a bit crowded for the nest design I've been using. I know I have a pair of HUGE colonies that I'm saving until the very end so I can give myself some more time to think about how to manage the whole density factor.
I have already filled about half of a 2-inch binder with datasheets. This pair brings me to (almost) halfway--5 nests out of 11, because the first pair ended up being just a single nest. It's at least halfway time-wise. Tomorrow I hope to keep my head down and paint, and then on Thursday I might even have a minute or two to try and figure out what it all means so far. I have a lot of ideas.
