...irritatingly slow tempo, coupled with repetitive songline.

It means there isn't much that's muscially interesting going on with reggae. I don't listen to music for lyrics; I listen to it for the musical qualities. Reggae is decidedly lacking in that capacity.

This is being made apparent by the fact that KEXP is playing some reggae-like song right now, but the tempo is up, so I actually like it.

In general, KEXP has been rocking out this morning.

Back to ants.

The key to leaning to tolerate Reggae is learning to love Rocksteady.
For example:

It's way superior. Generally about interesting pop topics, compared to reggae which is usually about weed, "ja," or "the struggle".

the key to loving reggae is probably to become a stoner. i don't recommend. reggae is horrible. don't second-guess your good sense.

Haha, yep. I am so glad we agree on this point. BFF!

The slowed-down beat is perfect for someone on a depressant, I suppose. I'd rather be high-strung. :)

You would have hated what I did to my old university's herbarium in the summers, then ;-) All Marley, all over, all the time.
