rebeccmeisterWell, it's a busy week this week, so I don't have much time to report to the old blag-o-blag, except to mention that I rode over one of my friends this morning--just her ankles. I think it was probably the best of the possible outcomes, given the circumstances: she locked wheels with another member of our cycling gang and crashed right in front of me. My options were to slam on the brakes so hard I went flying, turn so far I went flying, ride over her midsection, or slam on the brakes most of the way and ride over her ankles.
Fortunately, she was wearing a helmet and jeans (though she has previously claimed that when she wears a helmet she gets in accidents). Also fortunately, I was riding the Jolly Roger and hadn't put extra air in the tires that morning--better those tires than skinny road bike tires. She'll have some pretty amazing bruises and a bit of road rash, and her headset is a bit crookedized, but she's a total badass for getting right back up and on her bike.
