Whenever I don't have enough things on my agenda, I manage to fill it up with departmental political fluff. I mean, it isn't really fluff, but it's hard to do Teh Research when my brain's scattered across three developing projects. And also, I wish I liked meetings more than I do, but I have a hard time justifying them as productive time.

About 9 times out of 10, I feel that every 'business' meeting I've been to has been a waste of time, and that the minute amount of information and discussion in no way compensates for the collective amount of (wo)man-hours lost. An e-mail chain, though cluttered, can be much more efficient.... but hey, I was on the clock, so it really didn't matter to me.

H. Shanker Krishnan seems to (briefly) prove meetings are less than productive:

This idea has been around for some time. I believe the colloquial term is "Bandwagon"
