So it sounds like our bike touring trip next weekend will be a lot of fun: we'll start out in Vail, south of Tucson, and will loop down through Sonoita to Patagonia. We'll camp and then stop by some wineries on the way back. I can hardly wait--my first bike touring trip! The folks who are going are all awesomesauce. I may go and never come back. Even if I do return, we're already starting to plan future trips.

Bicyclists are my kind of people--not fixed-gear riders or road racers or mountain bikers, just the people who like to ride bicycles for the sake of riding bicycles.

Mmm. Sonoita is wonderful, and that ride is gorgeous. Make sure you stop at Callaghan's and at Rancho Rossa wineries. Everything else is third rater.

Sonoita and Patagonia are beautiful. There are lots of forest service roads that make for wonderful hiking and traveling. This time of year it's down right cold!

I also second Crum's suggestion to stop at Callaghan's. There are a lot more wineries down there now a days but even if you don't find wine you're looking for you're bound to have a good time if you stop by.

Sweet. It's definitely on the itinerary. It *will* be cold, so hopefully we'll all have the necessary gear. We shall see...
