Well, it looks like I might just survive another week. I have a student in my Thursday morning lab who is resentful of the fact that he has to be there. I feel really bad for the rest of his group members because they are all pretty enthusiastic about the material. My Thursday lab is an interesting group. They're all pretty respectful, first of all (aside from that one exception). Many of the students feel that the material's a bit too simple for them (although it isn't), but many of the students also like to enthusiastically talk about aspects of biology that don't always pertain to the lab at hand. Today one table wanted to talk about evolution and intelligent design, while another table wanted to talk about evidence of processes that aren't driven by natural selection (I had to try and explain neutral selection to them; that was interesting). Yet a third table wanted to talk about animal use in education and research (I brought it up in a mock-presentation that I gave). I enjoy talking about all of those subjects, but those subjects are probably why it took most of the lab for the students to finish the actual lab activities.

I always leave my Thursday labs uncertain about what my students think about me. On the one hand, it doesn't necessarily matter what they think if they learn the material. On the other hand, I always hope they feel like the lab provides a positive and interesting learning environment. But I just can't tell with this bunch.
