This is the kind of litter one would only find in Seattle. It's an espresso knockbox. I was so impressed that I had to take a picture of it.
I really wish the AZ Dept. of Transportation had someone with a similar sense of humor. Seattleites are, in general, much more conscientious about driving carefully than drivers I have encountered elsewhere. Arizona could use a LOT of these signs, considering that traffic here travels at much faster speeds, which are more likely to result in fatalities for people who aren't protected by 2 tons of steel.
I have been trying to learn how to glare for a long time.

What exactly is an espresso knockbox?

Date: 2006-08-31 05:03 am (UTC)An espresso knockbox is designed for knocking coffee grounds out of the portafilter, that thing with a handle that's filled with coffee to brew espresso. The metal bar in the center is a nice place to bang the top edge of the portafilter so the grounds come out looking like a little coffee puck (if the coffee has been properly tamped).
