Today we neatened the edges of the fiberglass we applied to the inside, then rolled the boats back over and prepped the bottom for fiberglass.

Lots of sanding time, but still probably only 1/50th of the overall amount of sanding that will be needed.

Our instructor helped shape our bows:

But I got to try out using a Japanese pull saw to cut the ends of the boards flush with the transom. It went all right, but I eventually just switched over to sanding.

Once the bottom was glassed, we worked on filling the wire holes and finishing out the fillets between the planks on the outside.

Lots of time with very sticky fingers.

I continue to be so glad I'm doing this as part of a class. While some of the elements aren't quite up to the standard S would hold for himself, I appreciate having the time set aside specifically to work on the boat, and our instructor has been running around tending to many of the more finicky aspects of the process. It is also very helpful to learn more about working with epoxy and fiberglass. If I were trying to learn on my own, there would be a lot more trial and error and frustration.
