Fragmented

We are currently in the midst of the advising period for spring registration. Part of me really enjoys academic advising, because I get to meet one-on-one with my advisees and help them navigate some important decisions.

But it also adds a whole lot of meetings to my week, and fragments it, and then I have those awkward in-between times to try and actually get other things done.

I think the underlying issue is that this has felt like a semester without a solid routine, and I function best with a solid routine.

Oh well, I guess.

Emma news [cats]

She hasn't been eating very much over the last week. If we urge her to eat, she will try and take a few bites, but it still isn't enough.

I mostly mention this so if this is indeed near the end for her, it is less of a shock. She is 17 years old, after all. I'd love for her to live longer, but we also have to be realistic.

She has been snuggling a lot at night, too. That time is precious.
