Vaguebooking to protect individual privacy, but I have to say something, which is, you just never know when you might wind up using First Aid / CPR skills.

On that front: due to the pandemic, the Red Cross now offers a fully online course. Legally the course cannot replace certain in-person First Aid / CPR training requirements in workplaces.

However, from a personal preparedness standpoint, having taken the online course is 100x better than having no First Aid / CPR training at all. And as far as online training courses go, it's really good! You run through a series of practice scenarios that help you practice the appropriate response steps when encountering a range of situations.

I'd taken in-person courses before, but took the online course about a month ago as a refresher, and I could tell that it helped me pursue the best course of action.

I added to the list first thing Monday morning. I guess it's just going to be one of those weeks. A squirrel did one of those little, spastic-y squirrel moves and left me no time to react. After I hit it, I glanced back and I am pretty sure I saw it running up a tree. So at least it wasn't fatal. This time.

Current list:
-My friend EL's ankles. Tempe, AZ.
-Opossum at night in Nebraska
-Chipmunk on a bike path south of Albany. That one was fatal, sigh.
-Squirrel on Quail St.

I don't know how many animals I've ever hit and killed with a car, and you probably don't know for yourself, either. I can tell you I have passed countless carnage while bicycling over the years.
