1. Slowly limped car over to mechanic. Spent much of today relaying information about mechanic's assessment, talking to mechanic, etc. All more tricky when not the owner of the car, and so not able to just make less-than-perfect decisions and live with them.
2. Did more prep work in the lab, and got a couple of requests from the folks in CA for supplies they didn't realize they'd need. I guess it's kind of nice to get to be the saviors? Scheduled and paid for a rental car for tomorrow through Sunday.
3. Brought the undergrads to some of my favorite spaces on campus. They have really been enjoying getting to see the campus and Arizona. They hadn't realized there would be so many palm trees here. One arrived hoping to get to see at least one cactus. They are an awesome group. The Art Museum is open Fridays through Sundays, so we'll get to stop in! Also realized I MUST take them to the Ceramics Research Center.
4. The undergrads have also been champs about taking the bus to/from campus. It's a pretty good commute, all things considered.
5. Am arranging for DOHRI neighbor to feed and water Emma while we're in California. Once again, I am SO GLAD / relieved to have an amazing DOHRI neighbor right now!!
6. It turns out we are staying right around the corner from this place:

It made me SO HAPPY when I walked in there this afternoon. The real Arizona goodness everywhere! General note, Black Sphinx get harvested in September.
