Trends that we hope will continue
Jan. 27th, 2020 02:13 pmI am enjoying teaching Animal Phys for the second time, tremendously.
One of my students from last spring stopped by today, because their roommate is now taking Animal Phys, to wax rhapsodic about the class, which was also really fun. They said that they were surprised to discover just how much they remembered from our class. That's the biggest compliment anyone could pay me as a teacher. Not only was stuff learned, it was remembered. If they come back to visit after graduating and say the same thing again, aces.
The thing I need to do next is work on injecting more of this into my introductory teaching. That's a more challenging task due to the nature of the topics covered, and the nature of the group of students.
