Too much to do...
Dec. 1st, 2011 11:55 amI suppose it's a good problem.
Last night: erged another 12k, dashed home and chomped down some nachos, went grocery-shopping, came home and loaded up dirty clothes to run over to the laundromat, did laundry, hung up clothes to dry, made some real hot chocolate (if you know what I mean,
gfrancie), went to bed.
Tonight: gotta erg early, then there's a webinar on advanced visualizations with ggplot2, then, then...lots of projects deserve some attention. Yogurt-making might get top priority because it would be nice to eat more protein with lunch while I'm doing so much erging. Oh, gotta hit up the other grocery store for butter, if I have the time. And I need to acquire brandy for another project, too. Cooking can sure eat up a lot of time.
I've started the first cricket experiment, too, which involves checking in on the crickets at least thrice a day to pull out newly-molted individuals. These individuals receive two diets each to chow down on for five days, and then, off with their heads. (actually, they go into the freezer). The two diets allow the crickets to pick and choose according to their preferences for carbohydrates and protein. Since yesterday I've collected slightly under half of the crickets I need for this experiment. The colonies have experienced some die-offs, so I don't know if I'll get the full sample size I need. I also need to propagate the next generation of crickets, after all. Tricky business. Crickets don't recognize weekends, either, so it's going to be a busy weekend as well. I was a bit nervous about working with crickets when I got the first batch, but now I kinda like them and think they're cute. Go figure.
