Chickens and Coops and Things

scrottie's return from the Land of Hard Work, and grading papers, the weekend disappeared and appears to have taken Monday along with it.
However, teaching is now done for the day, and I'm going to head home momentarily, so I can afford at least a minute or two for a brief "stuff going on" update. On Sunday afternoon, we (S and I) boarded up one side of the chicken coop. Now it's starting to look like a genuine shack!
The chickens are continuing to grow at a tremendous pace, and I'm thinking about making an action movie about them. I've got the opening credits all figured out, and we're partway through the set-building, all things considered (though we're going to have to add on a second story so the birds can descend the staircase). Heck, we even have an interesting celebrity cast of characters, just think about it. Not only do we have Gertrude, Henrietta, Chaswell, Beatrice, and Oxnard, but we also have the Cats (with their attendant romantic trysts) and the Dogs (with their other attendant romantic trysts). Now I just need a plot and some action. Don't worry, I won't quit my day job just yet.
Anyway. Before that happens, we are going to have to paint the coop and install some fixtures. Saturday. By then, I should have a few more photo updates for you as well.
