I think I came down with a case of The Grumps this weekend, probably because I didn't get quite enough sleep (I also blame the lack of rowing last week). Regardless of the cause(s), the good news is that I'm back to my usual chipper self this morning. It helped that I got enough sleep and then K and I had an excellent row and the sunrise was gorgeous today.

I don't really have a whole lot to say about the weekend, this time around. Just a few words. I went on a couple of long bike rides, on Friday night to visit First Fridays and on Saturday morning to visit the farmer's market and Lux. I got into a nice conversation with a random stranger at Lux, which is always a simultaneously good and bad thing to have happen--good because it was someone who could reminisce about life in the Pacific Northwest vs. life in Phoenix, bad because I like to go to coffeeshops for some mental space where I can write and don't have to talk to anybody. Oh well. I got to have some of that time on Friday, at least.

Most of the rest of Saturday was occupied by preparations for Bike-a-Palooza, but also included a trip over to REI where I found zero out of the four items I was looking for (classy SIGG water bottle, flask, seatpost bolt, good/cheap patch kits). R and [livejournal.com profile] scrottie also put the finishing touches on a large bike trailer that we'd been working on, and I got to take it on its maiden voyage by using it to carry a bunch of bike valet stands (think GIANT sawhorses) over to the park for the festival. Fun, but mildly terrifying. There can be no sudden moves when one is hauling that much weight. On the other hand, now I can haul that much weight with my bicycle! Hopefully I'll be able to post a few pictures soon.
