My well-behaved kitty
Sep. 19th, 2007 07:37 amI have the door propped open this morning, to let in as much of the cool air as possible before I have to shut things up and head out to school.
I've been working with my cat over the past year to establish the doorway as a boundary--she's allowed to hang out and look outside, but doesn't get to go out. One day, a carpenter bee proved to be too great a temptation, and she lept outside in pursuit and was promptly yelled at. But she is smart and learns well. She has been very well-behaved this morning (so far), probably because she's enjoying the fresh air as much as I am. I don't blame her for slipping up--she loves to chase those small, quick things.
Most thankfully, I think the cooler temperatures have made life more difficult for the pesky mosquitoes, too. They made a lot of people itchy at the party on Saturday.
I am wearing long (but thin) sleeves and jeans today. It's cold, people! Okay, maybe it isn't cold, but I'm excited to have a chance to wear something different for a change.
In other news, it's International Talk Like a Pirate Day, mateys! ARRRRRRRR!
