Today is Feel Like a Moron Day.
Aug. 21st, 2006 04:02 pmSo. I am a member of a boat club solely to obtain access to boats. This morning, I rolled out of bed at 4:20 and went over to the boathouse. I took out a boat and had a more-or-less nice row (aside from some crazy-ass dude in a powerboat who jetted all over the place and ruined perfectly good, flat water). Then I get back to the boathouse and discover that I had forgotten that we aren't supposed to start rowing at 5:00 on Mondays. Open Row starts at 6:00. It starts at 5:00 every other day of the week. I got a stern note AND a voice mail. Arg.
Then I spent most of the day at school just doing this 'n' that. It wasn't a complete waste of a day, but it sure didn't feel productive. So I went home early, and now here I am.
After going to the conference in Washington, D.C., then moving, then traveling home, I'm a wee bit out of the loop.
Classes started today for the undergrads, so there are hordes and hordes of scantily clad people walking around and lounging about on campus. It's a bit disconcerting after the nice, quiet campus this summer. I saw at least two girls to whom I wanted to say, "Yes, dear, it's very nice to know that you're wearing a bra. I shudder to think what I would see if you were NOT." I'm all for dressing attractively, but some of these girls have a thing or two to learn about public decency. Sheesh.
