I have approximately 205.8 itchy mosquito bites on my ankles today. I acquired all of them yesterday, while hanging out the wash, which takes about five minutes.
Arizona mosquitoes are tiny, fast and silent, and I cannot feel them when they land on my skin. I can, however, feel them after they've bitten and flown away--their bites are itchy and painful, and even if I don't scratch them, they linger for several days. Oh, and they favor the ankles and feet, which are my least favorite places to be bitten.
I was quite amused by the handful of Washington mosquitoes that I saw on my trip home. They were big, slow, and made that high-pitched whine in my ears. They are so easy to kill.
