(no subject)

It's raining this morning! It rained last night at my field site, but still no queens. *sigh*

I'm turning into an Arizonan. I have no clue where my umbrella is, but it's probably not worth bothering to find it anyway. It feels kind of cold out (it's 89 degrees and cloudy), and I don't remember how to drive in the rain. I think I'm supposed to drive more slowly or something. People aren't sure if they should turn on their headlights or not; I think that it's about 50/50 for on/off (really, folks, it couldn't hurt).

Well, I have to count progeny and weigh queens today, so it's going to be a busy one.

But it's raining! Yay!

When it rains...

it pours. Yeah. I just learned from a contact in Tucson that the leafcutters that I'm after have mated down there. I can't make it there until probably Wednesday. Aaaaugh! I'm REALLY hoping I can get something from down there. If I can't, I'm probably screwed for the year.

I also just decided to go to the Animal Behavior meeting, which is just outside Salt Lake City. The meeting is next weekend.

Apparently my break is over.
