Another infinite loop

Here are fragments of another [presently] infinite loop in my head (the first being the Calvin and Hobbes cartoon).
*
A quotation from The Red and the Black:
"He must be doing some violence to his feelings, Julien thought, since by nature he is so polite."
*
The woman on The Bachelor who was an actress was kicked off because the bachelor couldn't tell if she was sincere or simply acting.
I just desperately wish I had time and space to work these thoughts out of their loops.

Date: 2006-03-09 03:06 am (UTC)IMO we are all acting. not a matter of degrees, we simply are (ususally because we are pretending we aren't afraid).
it's usually just a matter of how aware of the fact that we are acting (and how aware we are of the fact that everyone else is acting).
I for example, decided to act like i am awesome. (compared to the "i'm cool and all that but i am not the kind of guy that girls go for" thing i had been doing for the past 10 years.
i know i have my self mostly convinced, and save for a few girls who roll their eyes at me (all of which are patently *not* single....) i think i have the rest of the world convinced.
