This is the first weekend I've been at home all weekend, in a long time. After a busy week, I wasn't feeling ambitious about tackling any of the bigger projects on the projects list, so I settled for smaller things instead.

-Got garden strawberries and rhubarb prepped to make cobbler. I still can't entirely believe how amazing the strawberry harvest has been this year. I haven't actually made the cobbler yet, because I still had some of the strawberry-rhubarb cake left over, and I wanted to be sure to finish the cake before starting another strawberry-rhubarb dessert. That reminds me to note that the cake wasn't a particularly inspired method for delivering strawberries and rhubarb to one's mouth. I'm much more optimistic about this cobbler plan. Cobbler is kind of like pie or shortcake, but for lazyefficient people.

-Tidied up the houseplants and fertilized the garden plants. The original pothos vine went and decided it wasn't entirely done being alive, so I have coiled it up to hopefully try and make it more manageable.

Rewound

-Lots of laundry, dishes, litterboxes, vacuuming, etc.

-Another Shrinky Dinks experiment:

I initially thought I should try and use supplies on hand on the backs of these, but my attempt to use oil paint on the first one indicated maybe I'd better go get some nail polish for the rest, so I did.

It's interesting how the black Sharpie is color-stable but the orange is not. Reminds me somewhat of my experiences with mahogany wood stain.

-Cooked pancakes for breakfast, as usual, then some cauliflower-coconut-cashew-pea curry for dinner (NYT recipe). More dishwashing.

-Tested out heat-shrink tubing as a method to reduce my bike u-lock rattle. After all the trouble of obtaining the correct size of heat-shrink tubing, the heat-shrink tubing method did not work, so instead I found some random gaskets in the basement and put them on. The rattle is now 90% gone, which is a vast improvement in sound quality when riding around.

-Got a few groceries from the ChoppahMarket32. I have discovered that the house-brand of whole wheat tortillas does NOT get sticky when they are used for Burrito Factory, unlike the name-brand whole wheat tortillas. This is a big relief. They are still nowhere as good as the HEB tortillas, of course.

And now it's just about time to go to bed, in order to get up and face another week.
