There is too much. Let me sum up.

1. Saturday morning rowed a half-marathon up to the Highway 7 Bridge and back. Managed to finish in under 2 hours, which was my goal. It was a beautiful, cool, overcast morning.

2. I spent much of Saturday afternoon tired and flopping about (hmm, I wonder why!). However, I did manage to get Frodo all cleaned up and installed a new chain. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that I was very much due for a new chain, just in general. I need to start keeping better bike maintenance records for myself. I know I replaced the cassette not all that long ago. I really need to track how fast I am burning through brake pads, too.

I used full-strength Simple Green instead of diluting it out this time. Wow that made cleaning go so much faster (and yes, I did very promptly rinse it off, too!).

So shiny. Won't last. Bike cleaning is a good way to call in rainstorms.

3. On Sunday, S and I went for a kayaking expedition. He wanted to kayak up to Peebles to see the waterfall, after having to hear stories about the last expedition up there with

annikusrex. Spoiler, we did not get to see the waterfall because we ran out of time. We did make it all the way up to Peebles, however, including our first time traversing through one of the locks!!!!

Also it was a 20-mile kayak trip roundtrip, which is rather long and exhausting, particularly if a person isn't in especially good kayaking shape and there's a rather strong headwind blowing on the return.

I took a ton of photos, but the very best photos are the selfies I took while we were in the lock, so I'm just going to post those here for now.

It's hard to see but there's a glint of terror in my eyes as we traverse the lock for the very first time
