Boo. [Emma]
Aug. 17th, 2020 10:14 amEmma is unwell again. Symptoms suggest another urinary tract infection, or that the first course of antibiotics was inadequate.
The veterinarian that is 1.2 miles from the house is now at a point where they aren't taking appointments until mid-September, for October.
So at this point it looks like I will be hitching up the bike trailer again soon.
Sigh.

Date: 2020-08-18 10:29 am (UTC)At this point in her life, I think Emma is just going to need much more regular vet attention. I suspect the UTI symptoms are tied to other, chronic issues associated with whatever caused her to develop the chicken allergy.
After running a set of labs, the emergency vet issued a preliminary diagnosis of triaditis, and Emma seemed to be doing a lot better on the combination of an antibiotic, prednisolone, and prescription food. But it appears to be next to impossible to get her in to see a regular vet here, argh, which is making it harder to know what longer-term management is going to look like.
