Unexpected question

A question that I was not expecting to find myself pondering today:

How does one, exactly, clean up a soap spill, anyway?



I'm glad that I am neurotic enough to have saved a bunch of the absorbent padding sent along with various chemical shipments over the past year. I mostly just tried using those to absorb the liquid.

...I have to assume the liquid came from a container of labware soap stored underneath this sink, just based on its color and behavior, and the fact that the soap container was more than half empty. The soap container did not have any obvious signs of leaks or anything, but I stuck it into a dishpan and will check on it tomorrow to see what it looks like. I wasn't exactly thrilled at the prospect of doing all this extra cleanup work on a Sunday.

Hahahahaha, YES!

This was in one of our teaching/research lab spaces, but there are DEFINITELY gnomes in our workplace.

I don't think so, but perhaps! The container is rather old, so I suspect container failure. I didn't take much time to inspect it yesterday but will take a closer look tomorrow.
